[Pyzo] Still can't get 4.3.1 to work

Hi,

I'm still stuck trying to upgrade to the most recent version of Pyzo - the
splash screen appears and then the whole thing crashes without an error
message and I've got nowhere. 4.2.1 still works though. Can anyone help?

Cheers

OK so this is weird,

it works fine when I download it as a zip file, just not when I try and
install it...

Do old versions of pyzo leave anything behind when uninstalled? It looks as
though they do, because my environment settings and open tabs seem to be
reloading when I reinstall - even though I've uninstalled everything
previously. Could this be a source of conflict?

Glad to see you’ve got it working in a way. Yes, Pyzo keeps its config around which is in your appdata dir (see help > about where exactly). That should not conflict though, and is true no matter how Pyzo was installed. Could it be related to admin rights? Maybe try installing in a location that does not require admin leverage.

OK, so I have now uninstalled pyzo, and miniconda and gone through the hard
drive with a fine toothed comb deleting folders with any reference to pyzo,
and then reinstalled. It now works, I have no Idea why, but I assume that
there was some conflict with previous settings or something - just one to
watch out for?

Very strange ... Thanks for looking into this. I have no idea what it could have been, but its good to know about this, and to have a solution. Do you know what folders were deleted apart from the installation directories and the one in appdata?
